Bobbins provide the same function as conventional winches with hoisting drums and are specially designed for use on stages in theatres, opera houses, congress centres, exhibition centres, schools, studios and cruise ships, etc.

The cable is wound over itself and there is, therefore, very small overall width compared with hoisting drums. The use of steel cables as load bearers provides an economical solution for smaller heights and weights.

The control ensures a constant speed throughout the lifting height despite changes to the winding circumference (winding the cable both in and out). Bobbin rigs can be used as single- or multiple-cable rigs.
