CNCeCAB Workcenter

Automation helps to make building switchgear more economical. Working with metal and plastic raw materials, unpunched switchboards and mounting plates accounts for a considerable amount of the time spent in manufacturing switchgear.

Until June 2007, this was normally done by hand – with jigsaws, drills and die cutters. This required a lot of labour and meant a great deal of physical stress and noise in the working environment.

With the motto "(R)evolution in switchgear manufacturing", EAE introduced the CNC switchgear manufacturing centre. The eCAB WorkCenter sets new standards in manufacturing speeds, the maximum component size and the variety of materials used.

Flat and folded surfaces can be worked, up to a maximum height of 1,550 mm, width of 2,400 mm and depth of 76 mm, as well as non-dismountable units with a maximum height of 1,600 mm, width of 1,000 mm and depth of 1,500 mm. The tools required are automatically installed. Drilling, threading and milling are carried out with high precision and are program-controlled. All standard materials can be processed: steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminium and various plastics.

The machine's programming is controlled via a CAD file, which is automatically converted into a suitable program. Therefore, even single commissions common in the industry can be processed with the greatest of precision and in an economical way. Interfaces for all standard E-CAD uses simplify integration in the company’s infrastructure.
